CCHT external link[edit]

This link was added to the article after discussion on the WP Reliable Sources Noticeboard. See: WP:RSN exercise. No information from the CCHT link has been put into the body of the article in the form of citations because it has not yet been verified for 100% accuracy by the Victoria County History project for Cumbria. (This will take some years to do). Laplacemat (talk) 10:27, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising[edit]

Some of the recent edits try to advertise local business + entrepreneurs, I have deleted these edits, Wikipedia is not the place for this.

Surely it is not 'advertising' to give the name of the pub 'Emily's Black Lion' and state that it is open and when this took place. This is a statement of fact and is surely a better level of information that clearly stating erroneously that the pub is now closed? I live and work in Ireby and have a long history within this small community find it annoying to have helpful comments dismissed! Ireby Lad (talk) 18:15, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the pub is "Emily's Black Lion" - not the Black Lion. This is fully registered and licensed if any verification should be needed Ireby Lad (talk) 18:27, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe someone can help me as I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall trying to convince wikipedia that the Village Pub is not actually closed and is called "Emily's Black Lion". The attached article clearly shows this is the case https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/16701905.north-cumbrian-village-pub-is-hoping-for-a-roaring-success/ but the wikipedia citation / referencing process is almost impossible to understand. I say this with a background of several degrees and professional career in editing. Surely wikipedia want to show correct information rather than out of date errors? 2A00:23C4:7127:2D00:1C76:B1EB:8D71:F5CA (talk) 19:20, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
