Article for Deletion[edit]

This article has been nominated for deletion on the grounds that articles on role playing games should give an encyclopedia overview of what the game is about, not a detailed description of how to play it or an excessive amount of non-encyclopedic trivia. Such topics should be moved to a gaming wikis or fansite.

A general rule of thumb to follow if unsure: if the content only has value to people actually playing the game, it is unsuitable. Keep in mind that RPG articles should be readable and interesting to non-gamers; remember the bigger picture - Wikipedia is not a game guide.--Gavin Collins 14:55, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see plenty of content of value to people who are not actually playing the game. Your tendency to use boilerplate language that doesn't apply to the particular article you're tagging isn't helpful at all. Rray 15:01, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you can see valuable content, kindly edit out the rest of the game related content. Then I will have no grounds to mark this article out with "boilerplates". --Gavin Collins 15:13, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to edit the article yourself, thanks. It doesn't seem like you do any actual editing of articles here though, which is unfortunate, because you could probably actually contribute something useful rather than just making incorrect comments and labeling articles inappropriately. There is no rush to do things here, so you should take the time to make sure that when you label something, that you label it accurately and correctly. Your comments on this article indicate that you didn't take the time to understand it before commenting on it and templating it, which isn't helpful. Rray 00:25, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Gavin, "kindly edit out the rest of the game related content" isn't a very logical comment, given that this is an article about part of a game, and thus logically the content will be game-related. If what you mean is "game guide content", as your initial comments suggest, I don't see any of that in the article. Pinball22 18:40, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this article tagged as a Greyhawk Module and a Greyhawk Location? The inclusion of the first Known World/Mystara makes it pretty conclusive that Isle of Dread is NOT part of the World of Greyhawk campaign setting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.21.12.37 (talk) 15:46, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it was marked that way because the Isle was used as a location in the Savage Tide adventure path. That doesn't really make it a Greyhawk location per se, though. 129.33.19.254 (talk) 16:20, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It was included as a "Greyhawk" module in 3.5 edition of D&D. It appeared in Dungeon Magazine. Of course now in 4e it is an island in the Feywild. Web Warlock (talk) 12:42, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
