There are several communities that share the same name, it implies the region they are all from (which cannot be Jaisalmer since inscriptions mentioning the Jaiswals predate founding of Jaisalmer). It should be a well known fact to someone familiar with the literature on the Indian caste system.

The most numerous and the best known are the Jayaswal Kalars, as one can note from matrimonials in Indian magazines and newspapers, generally the last name Jayaswal implies them. The Jaiswal Jains generally do not use Jaiswal as the last name.
