Cleanup?[edit]

  • Why is this tagged for cleanup? There are a lot of entries but the page seems properly formatted. Opus 17 20:31, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think it may have been because of the number of red links, although they are permitted on disambiguation pages, see WP:MOSDAB. I think this page is well-formatted with good, concise bios. Boleyn (talk) 20:55, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming the army John Campbells?[edit]

INTDABLINK[edit]

The dab guidelines at WP:INTDABLINK state:"To link to a disambiguation page (rather than to a page whose topic is a specific meaning), link to the title that includes the text "(disambiguation)", even if that's a redirect." I don't see how my edit to restore the redirect Jack Campbell (disambiguation) is in any way incorrect. Tassedethe (talk) 19:12, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry - I guess I didn't read the guideline. That seems like a silly rule, but a rule it is. Korny O'Near (talk) 19:44, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's Ok, it does 2 things really. Jack Campbell (disambiguation) shows clearly to the reader what the page is, otherwise you'd write "Jack Campbell, disambiguation". Also it means that links to the dab page are clearly marked as such and the cleanup project at WP:DPL has less to do. Happy editing! Tassedethe (talk) 20:07, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
