Sports[edit]

I know for a fact that Kennedy has state champoinship banners in its gymnasium. Does anyone know which sports and years these championships occured in? Bethereds 12:43, 26 July 2006 (UTC) '96[reply]

Rivalries?[edit]

Is Kennedy/Wheaton really one of the oldest rivalries in the county? I went to Kennedy in the 80's and Springbrook was our big rival. Before that, for many years, it was Northwood. I had never considered Wheaton to be a rival of ours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.255.232.151 (talk) 03:14, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I attended Kennedy from 1984-87, and yes, that is my recollection as well. Despite being right down the street from Kennedy, Wheaton was never a major rival of ours. When Northwood closed, Wheaton sort of filled in the vacuum a bit, but to say they were our primary rivalry or that Kennedy/Wheaton was one of the County's oldest rivalries is not accurate. History[edit]

"Kennedy's early history is that of an experimental school, with open classes, no grades, and no required attendance." Says who? I attended Kennedy 1964-1968. I can produce my report cards with letter grades. Open classes is not quite correct, either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.92.180.52 (talk) 13:33, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If I had a nickel for every time I heard some unsupported horror story about how chaotic Kennedy was in the 60s, I'd run up to Country Boy and pick up a 12 pack!

I don't know what it was really like during the '60s, since I attended 20 years later. I can attest to there being remnants of a more liberal School culture. Many of the classrooms used movable walls, a throwback to a time when (I was told by some of the teachers) classes would sometimes mix. There were no bells my Freshman through junior years, just cassettes of music run through the PA system from the radio station. When the music ended you were supposed to be in class. An open campus policy was in place during lunch time. And so forth. GodaiNoBaka (talk) 10:34, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated information[edit]

A lot of the statistics in this article appear to be taken from two conflicting sources, both of which are out of date. The Newsweek article is particularly problematic, since it's rating of the school has significantly fallen (by over 100) in the 6 years since the original was published.

If I have time, I will go through the article and bring all of these outdated references up to date - unless someone beats me to the punch! GodaiNoBaka (talk) 10:41, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

... and yes I do know the difference between it's and its. But my Android doesn't ;) GodaiNoBaka (talk) 10:43, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
