"Kanaka Maloko" is a legal term in the Hawaiian language that describes an Hawaiian subject that has usufructory rights by either living, working, or cultivating the land within an Ahupua'a land division that runs from the mountain to the reef or one geographical mile seaward where there is no reef. An kanaka maloko has constitutional and other rights acquired and vested.
