Karl Himself
Karl Denninger is a former CEO,[1], a former sabean prince and member of the Temple of Moon in Chicago.[2]He is also the founder of market-ticker.org, and credits himself as being a founder of the Tea Party movement and the organizer of the first Tea Party event.[3] Rick Santelli's CNBC mention of a tea party followed Mr. Denninger's Blog entry on January 20th. Mr. Denninger's blog entry was in follow up to suggestions made by posters on his messsage board, where political discussion was strictly forbiden for all but Mr. Denninger, and simply advocated mailing a tea bag to congress; not a new political party[4]
On January 20, 2009 Denninger published an article regarding the suggestion to mail tea bags to the white house and to congress, which originated on his message board. The title of his post was "Tea Party February 1st?," and it was written in direct response to President Obama's inauguration occurring on the same day, even though he openly voted for Obama. The article took issue with the bailouts, the US national debt and "the fraud and abuse in our banking and financial system" which included the predatory lending practices currently at the center of the home mortgage foreclosure crisis.[5]
Karl Denninger, who helped form FedUpUSA in the wake of the March 2008 Federal Reserve bail out of Bear Sterns, has been a guest on MSNBC, Glenn Beck and CNBC Reports.[6][7] By February 1, the idea had spread among various conservative and libertarian-oriented blogs, forums, websites and through a viral email campaign.[8]On Oct 20, 2010, he blogged that Republicans had hijacked the Tea Party movement, and perverted its original goals to the standard Republican concerns of "guns, gays and God."[9]. This was shortly after he lost a bet with Paul Krugman regarding the end of the recession and went on the Larry Kudlow show proclaiming the economy was doomed and he shorted the s&p500 hard at 950.[10] Many traders now swear by the FTFD indicator [11] and actively fade him. He is also know as an expert redneck jetta mechanic as well as a staunch advocate against muslims, bankers and the TSA. He is also know to revise his own wiki page and fear the TRUTH!

Karl's blog
Karl Denninger's blog has a comment section that has seen a lot of change.
As an occasional reader of and infrequent poster on Karls' blog, I was not aware that using the term "teabagger" would result in an immediate ban on my further posting. In fact on the same day I was banned for using it, he used the term himself in his blog post "Ah, It Wasn't Astroturf (Threats In Wisconsin) posted on 2011-04-01 at 11:00." I used the term in referring to Donald Trump after viewing the O'Reilly clips Karl posted as support for his approval of Trump as a presidential candidate. I had no way of changing the term by editing, or having it deleted by Karl. I was simply banned forever with no recourse. Such draconian methods of censorship for using a term that he himself uses shows how carefully he conrtols the conversation.
Since what he has to offer is easily found elsewhere on the internet, in forums that allow for dissenting viewpoints, I will not be reading or recommending his blog in the future.
For reference, here is the comment that resulted in my being banned:
Typical teabagger hits on every wedge issue he can without taking on the real problems. Nothing about standing up to the banksters. Tough on China by starting a trade war instead of coming up with better policies for bringing jobs back and reversing the outsourcing. No real solution for health care (more competition for the insurance business doesn't cut it). More muscle to steal other countries' oil through might instead of getting out and just paying the going rate. Vague talk about getting them to "respect" us (fear our military), which will fan the flames of hatred towards us. Pandering to the birthers. Pandering to the pro-lifers. No specifics on how to fix the tax code, "make it fair", means status quo, so nothing there. Appears like the kind of guy that will dance around facts with soundbites. No effing way. What a nightmare scenario. Even worse than Obama, who is pretty bad.
I'd vote for Dylan Ratigan over him, rants and all. Dylan, why don't you run? Biscuitsban (talk) 15:16, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
