The article is good quality but quite short for a GA article. That would be OK if there wasn't more to say about her, but her entry at Dictionary of Canadian Biography—not to mention the works in the further reading section—has a lot more details. They should be included in this article in order to fulfill broadness criterion. buidhe 20:25, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Buidhe: Okay, I'll take a look at it. I don't currently have access to a lot of the further reading materials, but I'll see what I can do. I probably won't have time to check out anything from my local library until Monday. Does that work okay with your timing? I can probably add info from the Canadian Biography source before then because it's much more accesible. Clovermoss (talk) 05:20, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've added some of the information that can be found from the Canadian Biography source into the article, although I haven't done everything yet. I need to sleep now, but I'll try to find some time to improve it further. It's the start of exam week for me, so I'll probably add bits and pieces when I'm taking breaks from studying. Clovermoss (talk) 05:52, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Clovermoss, there's WP:NODEADLINE. Feel free to wait until after exams if that's better. And good luck with them! buidhe 13:23, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: I just wanted to let you know that I actually haven't been able to access anything at my public library beyond the Sweet Sixteen source. I could probably check that out again, but the other books about her life are not available in my library. I might be able to buy a copy of the one dedicated specifically to her life and work, but that would probably take awhile. Clovermoss (talk) 01:05, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Clovermoss, that's probably not necessary. I would try to expand the article from the Canadian Dictionary of National Biography online source. Email me and I can send you a couple reviews of the biography, which should be helpful. buidhe 01:12, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: Alright, I'll expand from that source then. I'm fine with emailing you and I appreciate your offer to do so, but I'm not sure why reviews of the biography would be helpful? I would appreciate knowing how I could use these reviews to improve the article, as I want to be able to use the resources available to me. Clovermoss (talk) 21:59, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Clovermoss, one of them in particular ("Katherine Hughes: A Singular Journey" by Michael Posner in Queen's Quarterly) is very detailed with lots of info on her life. Reviews of the book would also help expand on her legacy/reception with more details on how she was recognized (or not) after her death.
If you email in the next hour I can send them to you quickly, otherwise you may have to wait a bit. buidhe 22:07, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: Just mentioning that I received the email. Thank you. Clovermoss (talk) 04:29, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Clovermoss: Any updates on this? Unfortunately there are a record number of GANs open right now so I'd like to close this review if you're not acting on it at the moment. I'd be happy to review again at a later date. buidhe 02:51, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Buidhe: Sorry for the delay. I've been clearing out my new emails so I can see your email again. I'm going to have some time to work on it today and tomorrow. I'll ping you to tell you when I'm finished. I really appreciate all the time you've been waiting already. I'm sorry it's been taking so long. Clovermoss (talk) 02:54, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Buidhe: I have spent a few hours between yesterday and today working on this article. I've been writing on paper and taking a lot of notes, while at the same time trying to write about that information in a cohesive manner. I have added 19 sentences and around 3,400 bytes. I'm still working on the article, but I thought I should update you on my current progress. I'm probably going to take a bit of a break and maybe add a bit more this evening. I have some time to work on this again tomorrow as well. Are you okay with waiting a bit longer as long as I keep actively editing this? Clovermoss (talk) 19:46, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: I had a question. Hughes was so much more than an activist: she was also a teacher, journalist, archivist and writer. I was thinking that Katherine Angelina Hughes, which is currently a redirect, might work better as an article title, since that's her full name. If the article was moved, would that mess up the GA review at all? Or should I just avoid moving the page at all? Clovermoss (talk) 02:38, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Good question, but I wouldn't say it makes sense to move. In order to move, it would have to be that she was at least as commonly known as Katherine Angelina Hughes as Katherine Hughes. Judging from my searches, this is not the case as only a few sources refer to her as the former while she is mentioned a lot without her middle name. "Katherine Angelina Hughes" gets less than 200 google hits. Furthermore, many people are notable for multiple things; in Hughes' case, it seems like she is most notable for activism so the disambiguator makes sense to me. This article is really getting in shape! buidhe 04:53, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: Alright, thanks for your thoughts on this. I agree that the article is getting into shape. It's a bit harder than I thought it would be, but I'm not giving up. There's still stuff I want to work on and improve, but I think I can get that done within the next few days. I'll ping you again when that happens. Clovermoss (talk) 15:41, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
