You are right, khaliun is not warm. judging from a short google search in mongolian it might be some kind of deer or antelope. Yaan 13:55, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Khaliun buga = red deer. soo - is (in mongolian) the deer named after the coulouring or the couloring named after the deer? --- or, would the sum be named after deer or rather after a horse coulouring? Maybe we need a native speaker. Yaan 14:27, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vietze adds yet another suspect: Khaliu(n)=Otter. However, Native speaker says default meaning is horse colour. Thanks a lot for finding the mistake.

just for the record, my mn -> de Vietze (looks like a photocopy of the Langenscheidt edition on the outside, but may as well just be a photocopy of the 1988(?) GDR edition) really says khaliu(n) = otter, while my (original!) 1982(?) de -> mn Vietze says otter = khalig(an). P.S.
