[edit]

According to the source provided for districts It was before 2000s. That time, Salem was a single district. Today it is splitted into Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Salem districts. Also Tirupur is carved out recently in 2014 from Erode, Coimbatore. So please include those aswell in Districts.

So, Please add Tiruppur district, Krishnagiri district, Nilgiri district, parts of Trichy district, Perambalur district, Thirupathur district, Kallakurichi district in the "covering districts" field of the infobox template. Also remove Madurai district from "covering districts" field of the infobox template. There are also claims according to historians small parts of Thuraiyur in Trichy and Kallakurichi taluks are also fall in this region. Indiaproject (talk) 13:56, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done, most sources available mentions it a western Tamil Nadu so I've made the changes to reflect it. Communemag is an unreliable partisan source and the government website is about Karur.SUN EYE 1 12:25, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah!! Do the same in Statehood demand title also.

and parts of north eastern kerala not entire eastern..

Not done, that is backed by sources. Do you have sources which says the same? SUN EYE 1 15:56, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Add these next to Cuisine

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Those sources do not appear reliable, do you have any better sources? One looks to be a blog, and the other looks user generated. Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:42, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cuisine

[edit]

The cuisine of Kongunadu region has specialties like Santhakai/Sandhavai (a noodle like item of rice), Oputtu (a sweet tasting pizza-like dish that is dry outside with a sweet stuffing), kola urundai (meatballs), Thengai Paal (sweet hot milk made of jaggery, coconut and cotton seeds), Ulundu Kali (Sweet made out of jaggery, gingelly oil and black gram), kachayam (sweet made out of jaggery and rice), arisimparupu sadam, ragi puttumavu, arisi puttumavu, kambu paniyaram, ragi pakoda, thengai barbi, kadalai urundai, ellu urundai and pori urundai. Parota made with maida or all-purpose flour, and loosely similar to the north Indian wheat flour-based Paratha. Arisimparupu sadam is unique to the region and frequently made in homes. Kongunadu cuisine is distinct from rest of the Tamil Nadu cuisine as coconut oil and coconut is used in most dishes. The region is the highest producer in gingelly oil, coconut oil and turmeric which reflects in their cuisine. Blessed with an abundance of oil seeds growing, the region indulges in a variety of pickles soaked in oil. Lemon, raw mango, green pepper, ginger are few of those which are made into pickles.
