I started this page on Jost Bürgi's method Artificium (1592) because it represents an essential breakthrough in the history of algorithms and difference calculus. Mathpriest (talk) 17:31, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
Inappropriate title
[edit]I don't think that Artificium is the correct translation for Kunstweg. It much more reflects ``Kunst but drops ``Weg. So, I am not happy with it. The fact that some people have used it does not make it necessary right. Moreover, you (and your sources) are entertaining an ambiguity, in that Buergi has proposed several algorithms, and that the one you call Artificium is not the main one he used. And in any case, it is pretty much unusable for a 2 sine table. Just try it, and you will see.Schwilgue (talk) 20:21, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
