Technical errors[edit]

I was one of the engineers who worked on the Kurzweil 250 and I'm the lead author of the only technical article on it I know of. This article has serious factual errors and misleading statements, besides being poorly written. I've fixed a few of the errors; I'll try to fix more when I have time.

Thank you for your article. I have flagged some possible issues using a template; please don't be offended, it will help attract editors interested in any particular issue to make improvements. -- Regregex (talk) 23:38, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regregex, Thank you for your input. If there are technical problems, please state what the issues are with factual data to support your position. I have the manuals to back up the technical data stated in the article and can provide written, verifiable documents if necessary.

The article is technical in nature, however it is as simplified as possible. I do not have a college degree in English literature but have completed English 101 in college and feel the article is written well to the best of my ability and with considerable amount of time spent taking all things into consideration. I would warmly welcome suggestions for how to improve the English language used in the article as there is always room for improvement in every article.

The article is not advertisement. The Kurzweil 250 ceased production in 1990 and is no longer available for sale abit some used units. I do not nor have ever worked for Kurzweil Music Systems or any company offering their products.

It is written from a neutral point of view by an experienced and expert user on the Kurzweil 250 for over 20 years. It is my opinion only those who know the instrument intimately can clearly and objectively write about it. An example to prove my point: what would happen if I tried to write an article about conjunctivitis, which is an eye problem? I am not an eye doctor and only eye doctors (or professors who teach eye doctors) could possibly write an article about it. The same for the Kurzweil 250, only those who know the instrument intimately can adequately write about it.

Some of the information contained in the article is first-hand knowledge from those who were intimately involved with the Kurzweil K250 project. This was a project involving many people. Not one person I'm aware of (other than Ray Kurzweil himself) was involved with the development and manufacture of the Kurzweil K250 from start to finish, from 1983 to 1990. No other article about this instrument goes into so much technical detail anywhere on the internet, however, this does not mean this is original research.Cmcgilton (talk) 04:59, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I received correspondence from Christopher Yavelow on Sept 6, 2008. He was intimately involved with the Kurzweil 250 having authored several manuals on the instrument. He indicates the Wikipedia article as it stands is accurate and he has offered to make a few minor changes and rewrite the article so the grammar, style, etc... is better. I've wholeheartedly agreed to this. As a Wikipedian himself he knows the standards Wikipedia has for articles as so will ensure that all references can be verified as I have done so to the best of my ability.Cmcgilton (talk) 04:39, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Correspondence from Donald Byrd[edit]

I received correspondence from Donald Byrd on Sept 24, 2008 and he has also agreed to look at the article and add to it accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmcgilton (talkcontribs) 20:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of material[edit]

Recently a lot of material has been remove diff. I agree with most of the removal. However, some notable performers using the instrument would add to the article Jonpatterns (talk) 20:23, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
