Cultural reference

[edit]

For the broader audience, the most important information about Land Economy is probably its function as a cultural reference. How it is portrayed in popular culture and the media e.g. link and why. The search completion Google offers, when you type in land economy, indicates that most users will search for this information when they consult Wikipedia.

I am no wiki editor, but isn't this an advert. AFAIK Wikipedia is not for adverts 161.74.220.45 (talk) 16:27, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious

[edit]

A recent article in The Sunday Times negates this claim - Economists have the highest salary by a fair margin. Will try to find reference for this.

Competition for Places

[edit]

The previous statement regarding the competition for places was removed, as it was incorrect. Based on 2009 statistics, 28.3% of applicants were made offers and 24.3% were admitted, ranking Land Economy 11th and 12th respectively in terms of most competitive - thus the phrase "one of the most competitive" is certainly misleading. See http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/univ/camdata/undergraduate.html

'most competitive and intellectually challenging courses' reference

[edit]

Unless there is any evidence proving this (not sure what wouldhave to be provided) this should be removed. It is opinion not fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by M4g1c14n (talkcontribs) 20:09, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
