distinguish town name Nupzur/Luoruo from religious site Larung Gar
[edit]I think one should distinguish the town name (in Chinese 洛若镇, pinyin luòruò zhèn, Tibetan རྣུབ་གཟུར། Nupzur) from the religious site Larung Gar. See http://places.thlib.org/features/16094 for Nupzur and http://places.thlib.org/features/5224 as well as https://www.tbrc.org/?locale=en&both=yes#!rid=G3997 for Larung Gar. --katpatuka (talk) 12:37, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
Additional edits
[edit]Provided general organization and additional RS, text, for the page. Coordinated info with the Larung Gar Buddhist Academy page: the Academy page had duplicating info, so the info focused on the Academy and the info focused on the student's residences was shifted accordingly, since the pages exist with different names. The shifting and reinforced focusing seems to make the information more coherent. Also, most people are familiar with the name Larung Gar, so the majority of the demolition and political re-education info is here - which is an idea completely open for discussion. There, the focus was the effects on the studies and Institute itself, which needs to include surveillance info, and the demolition and redevelopment effects from tourism in a contemplative center - noted by lots of RS. It's all interconnected. Please do ping to talk if there are concerns or needs for building CON for the edits and shifts. Thanks. Pasdecomplot (talk) 21:41, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

Quotation
[edit]Readding quotation for its notability: it addresses China's tourism policies, which also intersect with forced evictions and demolitions and re-education camps, and Larung Gar in several ways. It's a very good find and necessary. Pasdecomplot (talk) 18:35, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
