BUFVC → British Universities Film & Video Council —
BUFVC → British Universities Film & Video Council — The BUFVC is the acronym for the British Universities Film & Video Council but the acronym is not the preferred use, as with the BFI (British Film institute) or Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and so should appear spelled out and not in the abbreviated form of BUFVC. I have created a separate entry under the full name title but realise not that this was an error as I am now having difficulty renaming the page. Can anyone please help? - Support The relevant guidance at Wikipedia:Article titles states "Abbreviations and acronyms are generally avoided unless the subject is almost exclusively known by its abbreviation (e.g. NATO and Laser)." This particular institution is certainly not "almost exclusively known by its abbreviation". Skinsmoke (talk) 05:00, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
