[edit]Lexical Markup Framework (LMF) is a big project all over the world in order to improve interoperability of lexicons.
Various scientific communications have been published.
Some big lexicons are on the way to migrate to LMF some in Arabic, in French, in 32 languages, in Japanese etc.
LMF is specification that is part of ISO/TC37.
It is quite famous in the NLP (Natural Language Processing) field.
I need one week to improve the page content and links.
thanks, Gil Francopoulo
editor of ISO-LMF
Lexicon / Dictionary confusion
[edit]The whole article confuses lexicon and dictionary. A lexicon of a language is the collection of the lexical units it contains. It's a linguistic phenomenon, an abstract thing. A dictionary is what describes (a part of) a lexicon. It is dictionaries that we write, not lexicons. 123.145.163.222 (talk)
- Has it ever occurred to you that you may be the one who is confused? The word lexicon has more than one meaning, oh Guru. 193.0.65.67 (talk) 17:07, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
