Liberty of the Seas

[edit]

Liberty of the Seas is a sure thing. My family and I are scheduling a cruise ship in the summer of '07

Succession box and listing of ships in service

[edit]

This article has a list on the bottom of Royal Caribbean Ships in service. As this vessel is not yet in service it seems premature to add that.

There is also a succession box for world's largest ship. As this vessel has not yet been rated, and is of the same class as Freedom of the Seas, it is inaccurate to state that this ship is larger than her classmates. Kablammo 02:56, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Size

[edit]

I have changed the gross tonnage to the rating by the classification society. The tonnages put out by ship owners are estimates, normally larger than the actual rated figures. As those rated figures become available they should be used, with citations to appropriate sources. That may reduce the tendency of later editors to change the tonnages to those put out by the cruise lines, websites, and travel agencies, which are not accurate. MS

[edit]

Shouldn't this article, as well as Independence of the Seas be renamed "MS Liberty of the Seas", because MS Freedom of the Seas is. It is the official name. -- 99.243.212.228 14:06, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Preceded by Freedom of the Seas

[edit]

Why does it say at the bottom of the page that Liberty of the Seas surpassed Freedom of the Seas as the world's largest passenger ship. They are in the same class and are the exact same size. The same goes for the MS Freedom of the Seas page which says that Freedom of the Seas was succeeded by Liberty of the Seas. -- Anyquestions 15:25, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Precedence

[edit]

Liberty OTS was stated to be the biggest passenger liner because it is newer than Freedom OTS, sizewise, the two ships are indifferent. Michael Merali 19:15, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dirty jobs

[edit]

Did anyone see the recent dirty jobs clip show? because the Liberty of the Seas appeared throughout the episode? Emigdioofmiami 00:28, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Caribbean lists all ships in this class as 3600 passenger ships. Where did the 4370 number come from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Saf20016 (talkcontribs) 18:51, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Norovirus

[edit]

I removed the following: "On one of its first voyages, Liberty of the Seas was struck with the highly contagious norovirus, or "Norwalk virus", after a passenger brought the virus on board.[citation needed]"

This event actually occured on the Carnival Liberty TheGuruFromAU (talk) 00:01, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
