Is "NC State" that ambiguous?

[edit]

Over the last several days, anonymous editors have been changing the list, spelling out "NC State" into "North Carolina State" or the ill-formed "No.Carolina State".

I oppose this change for two reasons:

  1. It skews the appearance of the table, requiring long columns - or wrapping text - when NC State appears in the table.
  2. It's unnecessary. NC State is pretty clearly North Carolina State by context, or this can be revealed by hovering over the name and seeing the link target. Further, it's the only "... State" in the conference. (By contrast, I support spelling out "Georgia Tech" and "Virginia Tech", due to the similarity of appearance between the "Ga." and "Va." abbreviations.)

Does anybody have a reason for the change? —C.Fred (talk) 16:34, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Florida State might take issue with NC State being "the only...State" in the conference —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.162.230.97 (talk) 17:54, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ought to be merged

[edit]

This page ought to be merged with ACC Men's Basketball Tournament - the info on the two pages is 95% duplicative. The other title is more consistent with other NCAA Conference Basketball Pages. Rikster2 (talk) 13:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Completely agree with the merge suggestion. Mtcrotty (talk) 03:44, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
