How it works[edit]

I doubt anyone without a degree in electrical engineering specialising in this topic would understand the explanation. The first sentence of the paragraph (as now split) is really two sentences. The very long next sentence would be a challenge even for an expert. Which morse code letter is being simulated and how does this relate to a toroid (even a undistorted one)? I would guess this explanation was copied from a technical manual without consideration of the general audience who read Wikipedia. Therefore, it needs to be rewritten by a good technical writer.
