Updated according to 2005 list
- I've updated the list to reflect Canadian Business's 2005 list. Any discrepancies have been prefaced by a ? as after comparison to the original 2004 list, is seems other undocumented additions have been made since without quoting source. An effort should be made to add sources for these, or delete them.--Phillipbeynon 05:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Like to make a note that the Jim Pattison listing references an incorrect identity.
I think Hecto millionaires should be listed as they were before 500 million and up —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.124.255.82 (talk) 23:12, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- I disagree; 50-plus entries for this list seems like plenty to me. Additionally, the Hectomillionaires section was a dumping ground for entries that were either uncited or unsupported by their references, many of them appearing to be non-factual attempts at self-promotion. Deletion discussion
Previously listed on Votes for deletion, the consensus was to keep.
- Richest Canadians. Not encyclopedic as not up to date for long. Orphan unwikified article. Angela 01:00, Sep 16, 2003 (UTC)
- I think I agree that this should be deleted. I am interested in the real distribution of wealth in our society, but this seems a bit shallow to do the subject justice. I think that the better way to do this would be to thoroughly document the companies involved, and try showing how they relate through the people that own them, and get at the subject that way. RayKiddy 01:27, 16 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- "not up to date for long" isn't quite how I wanted to express it, but it's late and I can't think of the rule I was referring to. I've read somewhere that things are not supposed to be too rapidly changable if that makes sense. Angela 02:04, Sep 16, 2003 (UTC)
- In it's current form the article should be deleted. But if you're interested Ray, you could always improve it.--Flockmeal 02:07, 16 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- I don't understand why this is listed as VfD. If we have a list of former pupils of Westminster and a List of people predominantly seen wearing dark glasses why can't we have a list of Richest Canadians? I doubt that this list will change much next year; this is a fairly stable group of people. Practically all the names on this list are Canadian business people who have notable lives. At some point they will all no doubt be listed in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography. Sure, it is only a limited list with a specific focus and it has humble beginnings, but a list is a good way to get people to create new pages. I say keep the content, move it to List of wealthy Canadians, wikify the names so someone can someday create some additional biographies and link it to other Canadian lists. At the very least make the content part of the List of Canadians#Business Personalities. Alex756 05:19, 16 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- I don't understand why the two articles mentioned are not listed on VfD.-wshun 21:49, 16 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- I'll say keep, comparing Forbes to the US census. Martin 08:51, 16 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- Keep. Pete 08:54, 16 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- As I am new here I'm not entirely familiar with the rules. However, if the page must be deleted, I'll understand, but I don't really consider an annual event as 'rapid change'. (Author, unsigned)
Where is Mortimer Zuckerman?
- Is he not rich enough? Chivista 19:47, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Although born in Canada, he is an American--Phillipbeynon 04:17, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Canadian Billionaires addresses: www.billionaires.web.ma
- I removed the entry *[[Canadian Billionaires addresses: www.billionaires.web.ma]] from both links headings. I don't believe the editor who placed it there understood the syntax.--Phillipbeynon 04:17, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Where is Galen Weston?

Ted Rogers
I won't deny that Ted Rogers was very rich, but should we remove him? He's now quite a bit less alive than the other members of the list.--→ 21:35, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Missing billionaires
I find the list to be unreliable.
Charles Bronfman is missing. Listed as 2.5 billion on Forbes current billionaire list. Stephen Jarislowsky is missing. Listed as 1.2 billion on Forbes current billionaire list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.48.120.96 (talk) 16:20, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
obvious problem
i am not a fan of articles whose content must change constantly. if this article provided a list for each year it was calculated, or even each decade, then even if someone didnt update it, the old info would still be valid for that year. i think its a mistake to have articles which MUST be updated to be meaningful. more meaningful, yes. if the content must change in this list each year or so, i would nominate it for deletion. Mercurywoodrose (talk) 02:27, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
why wasn't Ted Rogers replaced by one of his sons or family like Kenneth Thompson ?
didn't his family inherit his wealth ? it didn't just disappear.Grmike (talk) 23:11, 12 March 2010 (UTC)grmike
Misleading
The title of this article implies that it has a listing of ALL Canadians based upon net worth, rather than simply those Canadians with over $1,000,000,000.
Another interpretation is that all Canadians are billionaires.
The title of this article ought to be changed to a more accurate and precise title.

Flags
The "residence" flags need to be removed. Only some are listed and shouldn't be displayed anyways per WP:MOSFLAG. UrbanNerd (talk) 20:36, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Robert Friedland listed as US citizen by forbes
In Forbes March 2011 list Robert Friedland didn't show up in Canada's billionaire list. His country of citizenship was listed as the USA and residence Singapore. In the news he's mentioned as Canadian, does anyone know why forbes did that?Grmike (talk) 23:29, 10 March 2011 (UTC)grmike
