PROD

[edit]

I removed the tag as instructed because I believe it is unjust. If it was a messy article with little effort put into it and a lack of sources being provided then I would understand, but I put alot of time into it after I saw this article. There isn't an awful lot of difference between them aside from cup matches being included in the one I created and no references to books, which could be changed with a bit of digging. The article I've linked to is a WP:FL and it is what I drew inspiration from, so if mine should be deleted then why is the other one among the best lists on Wikipedia? WP:L are acceptable on Wikipedia and that is exactly what this is.

I'll take any suggestions to improve it on board, I did think recently I should maybe cut the list in include only league matches. It'll take time but I would get it done, I take pride in my lists. I would also like to point out that this article is featured on a club that is currently at the second level of English football, whereas the example I've given is on a club that play at the fifth level. Thank you for your time. Argyle 4 Life (talk) 14:05, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see your point, and your removal of the prod is acceptable of course. However, I believe that both articles shouldn't be on Wikipedia, and so have nominated them for deletion through AfD. You are welcome to join that discussion. Fram (talk) 14:39, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll stay out of it because I don't think I can be impartial, having used the format to create an article. We'll see what happens. If people vote to delete the featured list then mine will have to go too which is fair enough. If the decision is made to retain it then I'll continue to update and improve it as best I can. While you are of course free to stay out of it, the input and opinion of the creator is often valuableas a counterweight to the opinion of the nominator (i.e. me). If it makes you feel better, you can just note in your comment that you are the creator of this article. You are correct that almost certainly it will be a both or niether decision, that's why I nominated them both now (I wasn't aware of the other list when I proposed this one for deletion first).
