Inclusion criteria
[edit]Lists articles need to be governed by objective criteria. WP:LIST I have recently rephrased the intro in an effort to lay out objective criteria:
- A "notable" band - In wikipedia terms this generally means the band has an article of its own
- Called "teen idol" by a reliable source, not merely wikipedia editors deciding that the band is a "teen idol" (WP:OR)
- And that they have charted on South Korean charts.
Note that currently, none of the entries appear to have WP:V showing that they actually meet the criteria to be included (although the one band that has a number of sources in Korean may qualify - I cannot tell.
The tables may need to be modified to include a row of charting in South Korea.
It may make sense to modify the tables into a sortable table getting rid of the rowspan years - if I want to look up information about 8Eight and I dont know the year they formed, this article doesnt help me at all, likewise if I want to follow record labels work, a sortable table would allow me to click and be able to place responsibility for a number of these acts to TS Entertainment. - What I think that this list does not help me too much either. I usually go to Category:Korean musical groups. But this list allows me to see which band debuted first and when it disbanded in comparison to OTHER bands. For example: which band had comparatively more members? etc. So I think this list should not be deleted because it is useful when it comes to comparison. Although, the column of references and notes (the one with a lot of 'citation needed tags') should really go away as readers could go to the individual articles of bands from the given links. Also, since it serves as a portal to all k-pop articles. On other thought, we could involve other korea based editors in improvement of this list, since they would know better sources than us obviously. Almost all the bands listed have their own individual articles with links provided, this is not a too bad list. It helps when it comes to comparison since nobody wants to jump from article to article only for sake of comparing who debuted first. It is not a too short or a too long list either. Trivial information
[edit]I have removed the trivial information (leader, record labels, notes and references) from the article (as per WP:NOTDIR and WP:IINFO) as it could be found on their articles and are not sourced. But I have left the general information (gender, number of current members) for sole purpose of comparison.
