Problems
[edit]The opening paragraph has some serious problems. It states that these U-boats could remain underwater infinitely, fuel-permitting. This is misleading, as it is through the use of a schnorkel, that they can do this, which is in contrast to those modern submarines with air-recycling. Additionally, it states that they started to appear in the last two months of 1944, which is also ambiguous. The first combat patrol began on 18-Jan-1945, yet these boats had been undergoing trials during most of 1944.
Some clarification is definitely needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.246.132.177 (talk) 14:28, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
