Eventual reformatting
[edit]This may sound slightly impertinent to me, but eventually, should the Space Force list require splitting into two-star, three-star and two-star lists as the service grows larger, would you be amenable to reformatting those separate lists into the same format as the active four-star and three-star lists? SuperWIKI (talk) 13:09, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- @SuperWIKI: I would. But considering that the service when fully organized in its end-design would be small compared to other services, would that be wise for the Space Force? I watched in Lt Gen Guastella's promotion ceremony that more or less the service would have only 20 active duty officers. There would only be two four-stars (three, when one is SPACECOM commander) and five three-stars, for example. That may change in the future, but wouldn't the different lists make it cluttered?
- I never said about doing it immediately, only to do it once the general officer personnel grows too large for a single list to cover without seeming cluttered. For now, your list works, go with it. It probably might only come up to such a size in at least half a decade. SuperWIKI (talk) 04:20, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, by the way, on your message on my talk page. I appreciate it. I've been following the work you've been doing on general officers. Great job on organizing active duty officers list. Currently, I'm focused on creating articles on USAF major generals and making lists on positions. I recently finished doing for all USAF lieutenant generals. Are you looking to make lists for active-duty two-stars for all services?--KingEdinburgh (talk) 04:15, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I am. Marine Corps goes first. However, I don't think I can do an Air Force one alone quickly (already doing final checks on Army), might need to be a two-man job. You got a link to your Air Force pages? Because I'm starting on one myself and we can combine the two. SuperWIKI (talk) 04:17, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- @SuperWIKI: There's not really a list for Air Force active duty officers, not that I know of. They have updated biographies that goes on for decades, but no database for active-duty like GOMO for the U.S. Army. I usually use the following sources, then check on their official biography if they are currently in the service—

- @SuperWIKI: Oh, I haven't created a draft list on them.KingEdinburgh (talk) 06:36, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- You can help work on my second sandbox then, since it's meant for two-star Air Force major generals. SuperWIKI (talk) 06:39, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

Third general
[edit]Based on your latest addition, who's the third general position upposed to be @KingEdinburgh:? SuperWIKI (talk) 06:42, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
- @SuperWIKI: Most likely commander of USSPACECOM. However, those are notional models done by Space Force Planning Task Force before the Space Force's actual establishment, back when they thought they were still planning for a Space Corps. They probably modeled for USSPACECOM commander as a mainstay USSF GO post. I would think of those models as what they plan as end-state GO structure of the service. Plus, there's no indication—yet—that they are adopting it seen as they're coming up short with major generals than they planned. If they are, then we should see more major general promotions, especially with the recent waiver given to the Space Force in the latest NDAA 2022 draft over selection boards' recommendation numbers for major generals.
