Source column

[edit]

Most of the colors in this table come from just a few sources, such as Crayola, X11/Web, Maerz and Paul, color wheel. These sources frequently conflict in their definitions, such that it's necessary to disambiguate with a parenthetical note next to the color name. There are seven different definitions for blue, one from each source. Instead of using the messy system of parenthetical notes I propose we add a column to the table for the source of the color. This will allow us to clean up some of the color names, allow users to sort by source, and make it much more obvious when an unsourced color is added to the table.

I'm thinking something like this:

But you never updated the G-M and N-Z articles, so could you do that? 24.14.193.228 (talk) 18:34, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Altay8! I just want to let you know that Blue in the RYB color model would be the same volume of blue as it is in the RGB color model. In this case, it is pure Blue and is Hex Code #0000FF (Not #0247FE as you have it), especially if the Hexadecimal System is going by the RYB color model.
If you want me to compare between the RYB and RGB color systems using the Hexadecimal Codes, then I can do so! Craig Lungren (talk) 21:54, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Colours ID'd on other Wikipedia pages aren't included here

[edit]

Ex: Amaranth #E52B50 is on the "Shades of Red" page. There are a couple of Amaranth variations here but not Amaranth per se. I expect there are others. Is it to limit the size of this page ... ooh these pages... already an impressive collection. Those colours which are the HTML protocol set should be included; and perhaps even ID'd as such. 65.93.146.43 (talk) 20:50, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
