Melissic acid

Melissic acid is listed with C31, but in the german wikipedia page Melissinsäure, it's listed with C30. Which one is right? Albmont (talk) 17:05, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it. The fatty acid with formula C₃₁H₆₂O₂ and CAS number 38232-01-8 is hentriacontanoic acid. Its isomer of CAS number 629-83-4 is the FAME methyl melissate. Albmont (talk) 17:35, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Maybe I should be more constructive and add the other weird names I found in my search: lacceric acid (C₃₂H₆₄O₂) and gheddic acid (C₃₄H₆₈O₂). I don't know if the names stop at C34 or go on... Albmont (talk) 17:46, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
