[edit]this page has errors Richard was never the nhl scoring leader and Gretzky was nhl scoring leader 10 times. Points not goals dictates who is the nhl scoring leader. Richard was the goal scoring leader 5 times as was gretzky. However Richard was never the nhl's leading scorer aka art ross trophy winner.
Why don't we have complete lists?
[edit]I don't like the fact that, in the cases of these two categories, the lists of players who led the league in points and goals before the trophies for these respective accomplishments were inaugurated have been separated from the ones who received the award. In the case of the Richard Trophy, the accomplishments of Wayne Gretzky have been separated from that of Alexander Ovechkin, and people who won the goal title both before and after (Pavel Bure and Teemu Selanne) have their accomplishments separated so that they don't get an accurate total number of times as goal-scoring champion.
I totally disagree with the decision to separate these lists and, if people really feel the need to keep the old winners out of the new list because they weren't awarded, there should at least be a complete list somewhere. Frankly, I think the NHL should retroactively award the Art Ross to the scoring champions before 1946 and the Richard to goal leaders before 1998, but that's another discussion.Djob (talk) 08:32, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Annual Assists leader page?
[edit]Would be nice if there was also a page with the league assist leader from each season. I know the NHL doesn't have an award for that (yet), but it is certainly a stat that is both kept and worthy of a page. Such a page along with the pages being discussed above could/should all be interlinked for obvious reasons.Creativewill (talk) 13:06, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
