A lot of these character descriptions (esp. the major ones) give very specific and trivial details, rather than a broad overview of each character. This whole page needs a re-write. Also, there are a lot of spelling and grammar errors. - Tredanse 07:36, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

I've gone in and tried to fix this in Vince, Howard, and Naboo's profiles so far, removing the plot summaries and replacing them with an attempt at a more general character overview. Can anyone tell me if it's a step in the right direction? If so I'll try and revise the other characters as well. Emperial 02:25, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

It's good work so far, keep at it. Tredanse 10:11, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

I've corrected one or two mistakes, I'll look trough it harder, and try and find more things that could be better put et c.

-Purple Pixie

I've fixed all of the spelling/grammar problems I could see, might want to consider forking off an individual article for each of the main three (four?) characters? Hauntedunix 14:29, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

I did a massive re-write but some dick just reversed it all adding plot summaries and irrelevent facts. Now I can't be arsed.--Crestville 15:50, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

The Moon

Georges Méliès walkin' on me face

I'm tempted to draw a parallel between this moon, and the one in Le Voyage dans la Lune, though I'm also tempted to eat soap sandiwches. What do you think? boffy_b 01:02, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Yes, and yes. Watch out for the bubbles, they can make you sneeze.

I'm sure in the stage show that Rich Fulcher's character name changes. When I saw him in Sheffield he said his name was 'Huge, loud, Anal-Shitblast'. The rest of the sketch was the same though and the song was too.

Yes the name of Rich Fulcher's character changes every show. I saw it twice, once in Portsmouth once in Southampton and the names were different each time.

Merge Saboo

Currently there is a unique page for the character saboo. The information should probably be merged into this page, as more significant characters do not have their own wikipedia entries. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zadignose (talkcontribs) 07:58, 17 January 2007 (UTC).

Alright, then. In the absence of any objection, I'll do the merge myself. As I've never even heard of The Mighty Boosh, I expect someone else will have to verify that the imported information is correct. zadignose 13:08, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Aha! Thanks for the correction. This is why someone more familiar with the material needs to look the text over critically. The original had me confused as to who was saying "crunch time" when Saboo was stabbed with the knitting needles.zadignose 15:37, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Split into separate pages?

The page is getting too big, to put it simply. Is it worth splitting it into separate pages? Ie: Main characters, Radio Series characters, Series 1 characters, Series 2 characters, Live show characters. The Rock And Roll Pirate 11:24, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Main characters can be covered on The Mighty Boosh, and then have a page called "List of Minor Characters in The Mighty Boosh" instead? I personally feel that the page is too big as there is too much irrelevant information on each character, and too many jokes. Maybe a bit of heavy pruning should be done first, and then see how it looks and if it needs a split? ...adam... (talkcontributions) 19:47, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Also, many of the characters have their own page or have enough information to warrant one (i.e. Old Gregg has one and The Bongo Brothers, incorporating both Rudi and Spider, probably deserve one). That would cut down on the article size? ...adam... (talkcontributions) 19:49, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry - being particularly full of good ideas at the moment. As most of the characters in the show are one offs, why not add to each episode page a list of characters in it and just have a list page for recurring characters (which may deserve there own pages) and the minor characters in the radio series/live series until someone creates pages for those as well? Just, another, though. ...adam... (talkcontributions) 19:58, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Ok - just had a tidy up of the main characters and copied the minor characters to Killeroo - thoughts and opinions? ...adam... (talkcontributions) 21:16, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Pete

Ive taken this:

Pete Pete is Naboo's friend who works in Dixons. The two generally sit around together, getting stoned and listening to Tangerine Dream.

off as I can't remember which episode he is in and don't have 4 hours to spare to find out - i think its jazz but anyone know??? ...adam... (talkcontributions) 17:59, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

I think it's in the episode Bollo actually... He's sitting next to Naboo in the scene where he gives Vince the miracle wax. I think... >_<' The Rock And Roll Pirate 19:54, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Why the links?

Anyone reading this list would think that the minor one-shot characters have their own pages instead the majority just link back to the episode they star in. Pretty pointless if you ask me... Agent452 (talk) 21:02, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps a one or two line summary of the character would make this list better than just a series of names with redundant links. Also this would get rid of the one-joke characters such as nan bread that don't really deserve to be mentioned. Agent452 (talk) 05:15, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Just remembered what I was going to include in my follow-up comment above This is the sort of character list I think this should be...comments, suggestions? Agent452 (talk) 19:36, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

An ambitious proposition

Might I propose that the article contains roughly a paragraph or two of information about all recurring characters (from the live shows, the radio show, and the TV series) in alphabetical order, in the style of Little Britain characters, with separate articles for Howard Moon and Vince Noir perhaps, taking into account they are the two main characters, and are the only ones to have appeared in every format of the show? Daisy-berkowitz (talk) 22:39, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

A little discussion has gone on here and that's pretty much the result of the discussion except with the idea that Naboo and Bollo get their own articles as well (as they've been in a fair few bits themselves) my idea was this as opposed to alphabetically but either way will do I suppose. Think the decision was to edit Everyones articles here, taking out all the fan cruft and unencyclopedic info then see who gets their own article. Agent452 (talk) 23:38, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I've alphebatized it, now the individual entries need cleaned up... Individual articles for Howard, Vince, Naboo, Bollo and possibly Bob Fossil (justifiable I feel, due to the fact that his character is the only one apart from Howard and Vince who has been in every incarnation of the Boosh since it began) sound good too. Daisy-berkowitz (talk) 00:04, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok I'll help when I can but at the moment I'm a bit too full of the old Christmas cheer and it is very late so I think I may leave it for a wee bit before I overdose on chocolate and christmas cheer. Agent452 (talk) 00:15, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Righto, cheers Daisy-berkowitz (talk) 00:19, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Another idea - renaming this article List of recurring characters from The Mighty Boosh, and having another article called List of one-off characters from The Mighty Boosh, to list such memorable characters as Charlie, Mr Susan, the Crack Fox, the Flighty Zeus, Spider Dijon, The Ape of Death, Kodiak Jack, Nanatoo, etc etc. I imagine the one-off characters article may be slightly longer than the recurring characters list. Thoughts? Daisy-berkowitz (talk) 23:50, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
I think they do deserve a mention as a few of them are referenced in the current article but not sure if thats the right way to go about it. I'll have a think. Oh, and just a note...the descriptions of characters, unless the act is still going on should be in past tense...and the thing about Charlie killing Bainbridge is OR and should be removed (Maybe it's not I've never seen that episode) Agent452 (talk) 02:23, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
It seems to me to be the least time/memory consuming and least complicated method to have all recurring characters from every incarnation of the Boosh in one article, and all one-time characters from every incarnation of the Boosh in the other...Daisy-berkowitz (talk) 11:49, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
I was just thinking about this in the shower, strangely a great place to think, and my only real concern is how we define what qualifies as a notable one-off character. I mean how much could we really write about characters like naan bread or Vince's uncle (or not?)? I mean they are hardly in it for more than two seconds. Agent452 (talk) 13:41, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Characters like that might have to be left out, but I'm sure there are some one off characters that could be included, some of the one off characters could be given a short piece in the parts about each season- note there is a list of characters underneath the episode summary, so far these pages The Mighty Boosh (series 1), The Mighty Boosh (series 2) and The Mighty Boosh (series 3) aren't hugely helpful on which characters appeared, other than the name of the character- so perhaps that would be the place to put one off characters. Also i think so far Vince Noir, Naboo the Enigma, Lester Corncrake, and Dixon Bainbridge are done, perhaps some language and grammar changes but they have references in there now, only 12 or so characters to go, and then probably more as there are many characters we haven't included! (LemonLemonLemons (talk) 14:02, 28 December 2007 (UTC))
List of one-off characters from The Mighty Boosh- you should of waited until this article was finished before making yet another article, this one still has quiet abit to do and not enough people actually helping, so perhaps before we make more articles we should finish this one. Sorry if that was abit of a rant, no harm intended. (86.159.86.131 (talk) 16:15, 29 December 2007 (UTC))
I'm still not too happy with the article being organised alphabetically, I'd much rather it was organised by which show they premièred in which would then lead to a table of contents which can be easier searched. And why are the images of characters being removed? fair enough the info boxes but the images are useful to illustrate the characters...which is after all what this article is about Agent452 (talk) 21:17, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, can we put the infoboxes for many of the characters, I'm not sure who removed them but it should of been discussed first, the article looks rather bad again without them and rather confusing actually, and uploaded images for many of the those characters, and i infact didnt just do it for the hell of it, and they were meant to be used with the info boxes which most similar articles have. (LemonLemonLemons (talk) 13:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC))
The pictures have been re-added, at the moment just for the main characters, but that's mainly because we simply do not have enough information to warrant such large pictures, perhaps shrinking them is in order? (but that's a minor issue that can be fixed at the end).

However this whole ordering thing is still bugging me (bit like Jonathan Creek in that respect, it'll annoy me and I have no idea why ;) ) I think that the main problem is 1. It leads to no kind of table of contents, which I for one find helpful and 2. There's so many blank spaces where no character appears for them. Personally I think this Is a good layout and how I'd like the article to look like...thoughts suggestions...because I'm feeling that this is just three editors working on this article Agent452 (talk) 01:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Thats a good layout, although perhaps at the top of the page this page we could make some sort of small table bulleting or listing all the characters on the page so people can instantly see who is on the page and then be instantly linked, of course we could use the standard Table Of Contents but on this article i feel a small table at the very top could look better, simular to what is there at present, but not letters- just a list of characters, if anyone understood what i just said then well done XD (LemonLemonLemons (talk) 12:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC))
The sections for Howard Moon and Bob Fossil need to be rewritten and sourced, but apart from that, the article looks pretty good, perhaps in need of expansion at some points. Does the proposition for moving the five main characters into their own articles still stand? Thom (talk) 14:57, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Certainly, however, I would suggest we do the rewriting/expansion and referencing here before moving them all back to their own articles (Mainly for selfish reasons...my Watchlist is already cluttered, plus it will make it easier to edit) and I'll learn how to resize the images and do that soon...just for further beautifying. Joyous New Year fellow Scot! Agent452 (talk) 15:07, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Happy new year! Yes, I agree with that. Thom (talk) 16:28, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Naboo

This is a mess.

Why is it titled Naboo the Enigma? Maybe some explanation is in order?

It says "Played by" and is in parentheses rather than "is a fictional character portrayed by" like all the other entries. (As an aside, is it really necessary to describe these characters as fictional on a page entitled "List of recurring characters from The Mighty Boosh"?)

Who says he's human? Citation needed.

Shaman is written with a capital S and has no link to relevant wikipedia.

King is written with a capital K and italicised.

The fountain of youth written with capitals and italicised. It does not link to the relevant Wikipedia page.

The second hitcher reference is not like the first and third -- i.e. written with capitals and linked.

Is there some doubt about the zoo blowing up? If not why is it quoted? And if there is some doubt wouldn't single quotation marks be more appropriate?

"Familiar" is in parentheses AND quoted AND written with a capital F? This is seriously OTT. Surely just "Bollo, Naboo's familiar" with a link on 'familiar' would do?

I don't usually criticise passive voice as it is often criticised as a matter of course by those who don't know any better but the sentence beginning "It is learned that at one point" begs to be re-written.

Wow! You guys really cleaned this up. Great job. It's much easier to read now. I hope the above comments were of use and not too critical. Can I suggest now that you delete these Naboo comments or move them off to the archive page as they are by no means relevant any longer. -- Josh —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.123.192.23 (talk) 01:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

It's hardly a proposition any more...

That and the thread was getting way too long so I'll start the new one here. I've just resized the images on Mrs Gideon and Bainbridge. Personally I think they look rather good. However I'm sure you may disagree so I figured I'd see what you think after all it's a bold edit especially as Gideon has been halved or there abouts. What we kinda do need is images with no other character in them to save on caption space and make the character representations more clear (no offence intended to whoever took the caps they're great) Agent452 (talk) 17:50, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
