Glasnost seems to be a problem since the start of this edit. I removed it, on the basis that Gorbachev never talked about doing a "truth & reconciliation commission"; no source that I know of speaks of Glasnost as such a commission; and no commission was named that I know of. I'm sure many would want Russia to make a truth & reconciliation commission for communist crimes, but as yet, we will have to wait. The German Vergangenheitsbewältigung is yet another example, which can only be compared to Glasnost inasmuch as Communism & Nazism may be compared to each other (which is subject of debate). I leave it here, because, being no German expert, I72.80.189.180 (talk) 13:44, 25 November 2016 (UTC) think that it has more to do with a truth & reconciliation commission, taking an account all the "introspection" and culpability that Germany has had to deal with since WW II. Additions now give complete list according to Priscilla Hayner, Unspeakable Truths: Transitional Justice and the Challenge of Truth Commissions, second edition (New York: Routledge, 2011) Dwebsterbu (talk) 20:57, 18 January 2016 (UTC) 72.80.189.180 (talk) 13:37, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List by years

[edit]

It would be great to add a new section to this list and list them chronologically, along with the years that each was in operation. Good class assignment?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sara.koopman (talkcontribs) 20:53, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
