Let's add the hit singles[edit]

This album was full of hits. 9 of its 12 songs charted in the US, and another charted in the UK. Let's expand this article. Sojambi Pinola (talk) 23:12, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is this really a "compilation," in the context of the way rock albums were assembled circa 1958?[edit]

A massive amount of content was deleted in this article, and it was redefined as a "compilation." I can see how one *could* make a case for this being a compilation, as much of its content had already been released as singles, and successful ones at that. However, I think it makes sense to look at this in the context of its time --where rock LPs were ONLY put out if a singer had released a certain number of successful singles-- and not according to the way albums were assembled after, say 1967 and "Sgt. Pepper."

The text on the back album cover did not market this as a compilation, but as Little Richard's followup "new album," and other text refers to it in relation to Little Richard's "first album" (which was "Here's Little Richard," and was constructed shortly before this one, under similar circumstances.) The titling of this LP as "No 2" in the UK further indicates that the record company thought of this, and marketed this, as a second proper "album," and they were careful not to repeat content between the two albums. Several of the songs were only released as singles around the time of the album's release, or up to a year later. And, "The Fabulous Little Richard" was released shortly thereafter as his "third album."

Please reconsider the mass deletion of all the data about the singles contained on this album. I think it is useful information. Why deprive readers of that data?
