Hybrid vs electric
[edit]My apologizes for my level of english...
The car present in the article with the 80 volts batterie is not the hybrid, this is the first electric car of Porsche. The real hybrid had an 80 volts ALTERNATOR, a battery of 220 volts and a traditional motor of 16 cv. You can confirm this in the following book :

[edit]Here is the reason why I thought File:Lohner_Porsche.jpg was not the "Mixte". The same photo is explained as "1900: Lohner-Porsche electric car Presentation at the World Fair in Paris" by Porsche.

Braking Austrian Speed Record

Two cars
[edit]This article appears to conflate two cars - the first "lohner porsche" was a battery electric vehicle
The second (as far as I can tell) was a petrol-electric vehicle - ie a petrol engine with electric tranmission - it was not a Hybrid vehicle because A hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that uses two or more distinct power sources to move the vehicle.
The article sources also need cleaning - up - some are forums and some clearly haven't got a clue - ie the CNN money article hasn't got a clue - says a diesel electric is similar to Chevrolet Volt ?? in what way - -one is battery the other petrol - it's like watching chickens learn to swim.Mddkpp (talk) 22:49, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

The external links appears to describe a hybrid http://www.hybrid-vehicle.org/hybrid-vehicle-history.html the "Mixte" - however the sources use in the article appear to be about different vehicles - needs cleanup.Mddkpp (talk) 22:55, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
This appears to be a better source for the mixte http://origin.porsche.com/uk/pictures/picture-of-the-week-1903-lohner-porsche-mixte , for the other cars [2] might be a useful source. A book search should give reliable results eg - there appear to be maybe 3 or more design variants - and more different models appear to have been sold. Also note the vehicle's name is given as Mercedes Mixte in one source.Mddkpp (talk) 23:08, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Again and again always the German Technic Superstars
[edit]I wonder always how fantastic the german engineers, technicians and scientists were since the midsth of the 19th century. They invented much more important technique as benefit for the world than the Anglonations and all others. They caught up the british and the yankees, and overtook them with such a speed. So the japanese did it in the 60s and seventies, and the chinese since 2000. If they weren't seduced by the false friend Adolf Hanover from Austria, now Germany would be the absolute Nr.1 of the world, much more friendlier in their mentality than the Usa with its unbearable appetite for war, destruction and envious control mania. Furthermore ... the lingua franca would now be german. Everybody knows too well, that Germany was decades long the Exportnation Nr. 1, until China tooks over this role, a country ten times bigger than germany. By the way... they invented the carmotor and cars... ;) And the Tv, and the first Jets and rocketplanes, and they discovered the atomforce and build the first little reactors, they developed incredible rockets that reached the space, had the best submarines, was chemically so far ahead and innovative, invented the transistor and first computer (by Konrad Zuse). And and and so much more. What would have been, if the Lohner Porsche were furtherdeveloped? Would we have had much earlier electrocars?
