I will be grabbing this for a review if that is okay with you. Aoba47 (talk) 16:03, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • For this part, "Long Live" is the closing track of the 14-track standard Speak Now edition, I do not think it is necessary to include the number of tracks of the album's standard edition as that feels too minor to include in the lead.
  •  Done
  • If harmonies will be linked in the article, it should also be linked in the lead for consistency.
  •  Done
  • I would reword this part, but some others felt it was generic, to while others felt it was generic as I think that would be a smoother transition and the "some" in this part is not necessary.
  •  Done
  • Since Paula Fernandes has writing credits on the remix, shouldn't she be listed as a songwriter in the infobox (with a note) since the infobox is collapsing information on the original version and its remix?
  •  Done
  • For this part, Swift included the song on the regular set lists of two of her world tours, I do not think "regular" is needed as it is generally assumed unless stated otherwise.
  •  Done
  • The lead should mention the Billboard charts placements for the original version. Also why does it only mention one of the two Brasil charts?
  • Why doesn't the lead mention there was a music video for the song?
  •  Done

Composition

[edit]
  • I believe you are missing something in this part, American singer-songwriter released her third studio album.
  •  Done
  • The article does not include any information about the song's production and recording processes. This information can be found in the album's liner notes, and this information is necessary for the article. You would also need to add a "Credits and personnel" section with this information as well as having it in the prose here. When you are done with this, I'd rename this section "Production and composition" and have the composition part be its own paragraph. I will re-visit this section when that is done
  • I am not sure about the physical copy, but my iTunes booklet lists the personnel for the whole album without information specific to individual tracks. I also looked onto Discogs/MusicBrainz but apparently they also do not have personnel for each track...
  • Thank you for the response. That is odd, but images of the liner notes from the physical copy do not seem to list further credit (which if true/accurate, I think is a shame because everyone who contributes to a track should get clear and identifiable credit). It should be fine since there is nothing that can really be done about it. The section does look oddly short/small because of it, but that is out of your control so it is fine. Lyrical interpretation

[edit]
  • I would remove this sentence: Towards the end, Swift sings, "Will you take a moment / Promise me this / That you'll stand by me forever." Unless there is critical commentary on this line, it is not encouraged to just have lyrics in a song article.
  •  Done

Live performances

[edit]
  •  Done
  • I have a few comments about this sentence: She also included the song as part of the regular setlist of the Speak Now World Tour, performing it on every tour date as the last song before the encore. As I have said above, the "regular" part is not necessary. I would also cut down on the last part to just say "performing it as as the last song before the encore". I also think it would be helpful to link encore just for the benefit of some readers who may not be 100% familiar with the concept.
  •  Done
  • The prose in the second paragraph comes across as very repetitive and list-like. While I understand it is hard for this information to not come across as this way, I'd still think it would benefit from some further revision. The article as a whole may benefit from a copy-edit from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors.
  • I revised the second paragraph.

Reception

[edit]
  • I think it would be better to put all the retrospective reviews in their own paragraph to more clearly define them as separate from the contemporary reviews.
  • Given the amount of reviews is limited, I think doing so would make it read awkwardly.
  • I'd move the PopMatters review to the end of the first paragraph as it is a more mixed review and could be a nicer transition to the second paragraph, which is about more negative reviews.
  •  Done

Paula Fernandes version

[edit]
  • Is there any further information on the production and recording processes for this version?
  • This sentence, There were originally also scenes of Fernandes singing in a studio., reads rather awkwardly and would benefit from revision.
  •  Done
  • Has Swift and Fernandes ever performed this song together more than once? I am only asking because the "for the first time" wording in this part, Swift and Fernandes performed the song live together for the first time, made me think there were other times.
  • Removed "for the first time"

Credits and personnel

[edit]
  • As I have stated above, this article needs a section with the production and recording information (for both versions of the song).

References

[edit]
  • I would highly encourage you to archive your web citations to avoid any headaches in the future with link rot and death.
  • I'd link Speak Now in Citation 3.
  •  Done
  •  Done
  • I believe Citation 34 should have a translation for the title. Same for Citation 30.
  •  Done but ref 30 is the album's title so I think it's unnecessary.
  • I am uncertain what Citation 36 is referencing. Is it referencing a Billboard magazine issue? If so, then it needs more information (i.e. volume and issue numbers, ISSN, page number, etc.). Or is it referencing a website that is not linked for some reason? I am just confused by this part.
  •  Done I added the vol and issue number

Final comments (for now)

[edit]
  • I hope this review is helpful. This is what I have noticed after doing one read-through of the article and once everything has been addressed, I will read the article more thoroughly and add more comments. Have a great day! Aoba47 (talk) 16:51, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for addressing everything. I will pass this GAN. Best of luck with everything. Aoba47 (talk) 21:25, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
