Racing car template
[edit]I've had a stab at a template for racing cars (see template:Racing car) to summarise the usual data. I've used the F1 templates as a starting point and applied it to the Brabham BT46 article. If anyone's got an interest in this, please have a look at the template and modify or suggest changes as appropriate. After a few people have had a go at it and we have something we're happy with we could start to use it more widely. Note that it's not meant to be specific to F1, by the way. Light my fire
[edit]I added the EI info out of Super Street Cars, but I'm not sure it really qualfies as reliable. If anybody has a better source, do change it, & correct this, also. Thanks. TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 07:44, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Chapman changes opinion on monocoque race cars
[edit]It seems that Chapman rejected Tom Killeen's design ideas for a monocoque race car around 1955 (just before Jaguar D-Type began winning at Le Mans): "I am afraid my views must differ radically from yours on the question of monocoque costruction, and I am convinced that the method of monocoque construction is totally unsuitable for racing cars".
