Kitty Carlisle[edit]

This statement doesn't match historical reality:

"Kitty Carlisle had hoped to adopt it as her theme song, but its swift comic association with Benny spoiled those plans. "

The song was written in 1934 but it didn't become Jack Benny's theme song until years later. It is rarely heard on his radio program prior to when it was used as part of the opening medley during the Lucky Strike sponsorship years c. 1944.

It certainly was not swiftly associated with Benny.

If Kitty Carlisle really (?) wanted to use Love in Bloom as her theme she had time to do it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:301:777C:C750:75DC:33A6:4E4D:383C (talk) 07:49, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
