POV Redux[edit]

The page is riddled with inaccuracies, is absolutely non neutral, and seems to be a veiled attack on the subjects of the story. The page describes comments attributed to an Ambassador but does not give his/her name, the date of quote or the context. I am familiar with the story (very familiar) but may be too close to give an NPOV account. I would be willing to write a more POV version and submit it for fact checking by an editor, if that were acceptable. It would seem like a good middle road. At the time (July 2007) this was an incredibly emotive subject, and still raises emotions today. --Hugorudd (talk) 10:12, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

POV tag[edit]

This concerns POV tag cleanup. Whenever an POV tag is placed, it is necessary to also post a message in the discussion section stating clearly why it is thought the article does not comply with POV guidelines, and suggestions for how to improve it. This permits discussion and consensus among editors. This is a drive-by tag, which is discouraged in WP, and it shall be removed. Future tags should have discussion posted as to why the tag was placed, and how the topic might be improved. Better yet, edit the topic yourself with the improvements. This statement is not a judgement of content, it is only a cleanup of frivolously and/or arbitrarily placed tags. No discussion, no tag.Jjdon (talk) 19:21, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is with the galloping racism on Wikipedia?[edit]

"The Roma themselves were not in a position to defend themselves as they were guilty"?? with a citation needed, but not given. The former sentence states different crimes, but mainly 3 people accused of murder. This seems absurd and totally bogus. There are many crimes associated with Roma people. Extreme violence and murder is not one of them. Even the most notorious Roma ghettos (think Lunik IX) don't usually have 3 murderers among the countless thousands. Roma just don't do that. Look at all the violence against Roma. They rarely even respond, let alone violently. It's not like an accusation of stealing. This paragraph with no proof is just a racial slur. Is this an encyclopedia or a reference network for some neo-Nazis or the KKK? Come on... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.40.130.7 (talkcontribs)

false information[edit]

1. There were no crimes done towards them (these are just stories invented by them so that the other nations feel sympathetic to them so that they can take advantage). 2. They were not oppressed: they were being given wonderful living conditions which they destroyed in less than 2 months by setting everything on fire and damaging the place so that afterwards they can say: "look in what conditions they have put us to live". 3. They were not working because they are allergic to it. It is way easier to coverup stealing while begging for money. 4. It is good that finally a country has listened to Romanian officials' advice, otherwise... 5. I could go on and on and on and... about all the atrocities that they have done in a lot of other countries but that is up to each individual to search for if they wish. 6. Let this be clear: I do not have anything to do with them as human beings, I just do not like their wrongdoings whatsoever. So, not them as persons but their re/actions. 86.41.249.3 (talk) 10:36, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
