Appendicostomy[edit]

Could be useful to have another section or article describing the difference between this procedure and the 1902 Weir's procedure and other procedures. For example, this 1906 JAMA article. Cheers, Facts707 (talk) 23:08, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suggesting some changes[edit]

I was thinking about making some edits to this article, but would like to get feedback about it in advance. First up, is there a good reason that it is categorized as a urology article, given a MACE procedure usually only involves the colon? (The original actual Malone Procedure apparently used an artificial urinary sphincter, but it seems that gastrostomy buttons became more common early on.)

The other aspect I'm wondering about is the article structure... Right now, it essentially describes an cecostomy/appendicostomy as an incidental side option -- but as far as I can tell, the Malone Procedure is the term often used for the operation to create either structure for the purpose of facilitating antegrade enemas. It might be better to have the page title be Antegrade Continence Enema, a history section, then details on the different types, their care and equipment used. —MiaowMinx (talk) 01:13, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
