Section moved from article

[edit]

I've cut & pasted the following section from the article to here, pending resolution of WP:COPYVIO issues raised by the last line. Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 15:31, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Motivation

[edit]

Per John McCumber's website, the idea behind McCumber cube is to push back the advance of security as an art and support it with a structured methodology that functions independent of technology evolution. The methodology rests on the relationships between the tracking of information as it moves through states of transmission, storage, and processing; the charting of information security attributes of confidentiality, integrity, and availability; and judging the information security risks of technology, procedures, and human interventions [Copyright © 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR]

Reworded - Motivation

[edit]

Per John McCumber's website, the idea is to push back the advance of security as an art and support it with a structured methodology that functions independent of technology evolution. The basis of this methodology is the inter-relationship among confidentiality, integrity and availability with storage, transmission and processing while applying the policy, procedures, human side and technology.

How do you use this thing?

[edit]

I understand what this cube is, but there doesn't seem to be anything on how people actually use it. Can an example section or something be put up? 71.61.100.98 (talk) 04:20, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
