get a screenshot

[edit]

Can anybody get a screenshot of the UNBIND Facility? It would be very useful.

That has now been completed

Microsoft Binder was a very useful program. Please encourage Microsoft to bring it back. I also would like to see them bring back Photo Editor.

In Office 2003 and XP, the UNBIND Facility can be used to open Binder files. Now Binder is discontinued, the best we can use is a .ZIP File. Anybody know of an alternative? I would install Binder seperatley but it is discontinued anyway-not really popular now!

I would disagree with the verbiage of the article stating that ZIP format is a "suitable" alternative, as it provides virtually none of the functionality of Binder except that it groups the files together into a single file. It does not, for example, provide common page formatting across the various subfiles (E.g. page numbering, headers, etc.) D j twilight (talk) 21:31, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please DO NOT Delete the Image of MS Binder on Office 97, as it is a different version to 2000 with many differences.

Actually, the only difference from '97 to 2000 was changes necessary to support the UI changes in Office. There was no functional difference...

Fair use rationale for Image:Binder123.jpg

[edit]

Image:Binder123.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Alternative Technology

[edit]

Given that Binder was discontinued, are there alternative technologies that would be worth mentioning (without promoting them of course), products that permit the 'binding' of different document types into a single package? I am personally not aware of any, but have on occasion wished that there was an easy solution to eg including a pre-existing pdf as an appendix to a Word doc.
