politically incorrect

[edit]

173.81.62.91 (talk · contribs) added the sentence Politically incorrect reference: In the opening narration, use of the word "drunk". to the article. I have two issues with that:

  1. Is it politically incorrect to use the word "drunk" (as in the opening narration), but politically correct to say "alcoholic wreck" (as in our article)? Our article drunk does not mention this word in connection with political correctness.
  2. It is not clear to me if it is claimed that "drunk" is politically incorrect now (in 2016), or that it was politically incorrect in 1959. If we mention PC at all, the article should be more explicit.

(I also think that if we start putting the label of "politically incorrect" on everything that is said and done in 1950s' movies, we would be very busy...) --91.115.10.197 (talk) 01:13, 5 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Politically incorrect" makes no sense in this context; I suspect that 173.81.62.91 has "politically incorrect" confused with "anachronistic". Even assuming this is the case, though, it is indeed far too trivial to merit inclusion in the article.--Martin IIIa (talk) 13:09, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
