What do you mean by 'nominated for Palme d'Or' in Cannes? There are no nominations in Cannes !193.56.37.1 13:11, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It probably means that the film was among the 20 or so films in the competition category in Cannes. It's also called a nomination in imdb, although that could be misleading. - Bobet 18:02, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mediation

[edit]

Hi. I like to keep this informal, so I'll just start by asking you why you feel the content in question should/should not be included in the article. --Moralis (talk) 21:12, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi
It's no big deal but another editor removed:
Ferreux was himself fifteen at the time of filming. He is seen fully nude at the spa and in a bath scene but not during any of the sex scenes.
The editor said 'who cares'. Now it may or not be fascinating, but I see no reason for an editor to unilaterally decide to remove valid content. It is, in my opinion, relevant as the movie has an underage sexual theme. Tony 14:30, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Tony ps I didn't add the comment myself originally.
I'd like to point out before continuing that if either of you are uncomfortable being mediated, by me or just in general, you can call this off at any time.
That said, User:85.164.152.196, would you mind clarifying your reason for removing the sentence? --Moralis (talk) 14:35, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Category: Films with a pedophile theme"

[edit]

Is this actually accurate? The age of consent in France is fifteen. 86.136.251.18 00:18, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. What's more, Pedophilia involves prepubescent children, not just those that are under whatever age limit is set in the country in question. I am therefore purging the references to it here. Nick Cooper (talk) 16:04, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's page on Paedophilia says this:

Pedophilia (or paedophilia) is a psychological disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children.[1][2][3]

I didn't see the whole film, I walked in maybe 1/3 or 1/2 way through, but learning about sex with your peers by this definition is not paedophilia. Something's got to give. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.163.244.40 (talk) 19:00, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Charlie Parker, member of the cast - what does that mean??

[edit]

I don't get the meaning of this sentence: Jazz music by Charlie Parker, member of the cast, Dizzy Gillespie and books from Bataille, Proust, and Camus features prominently in the film. Can somebody please tell how it is meant to be? For me it sounds like Charlie Parker acted in this movie (but I know that he died 1955).--Rupert Pupkin (talk) 12:29, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
