New additions to the lead

User:Tataral wishes to include in the lead that Rothschild is only known as Rothschild within the United Kingdom link. Instead of trying to force through additions to the lead, can we find some sources that support that Rothschild is used differently elsewhere? Then we can add it to the lead. :) 87.210.99.206 (talk) 05:21, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

This is a wholly uncontroversial clarification that doesn't need any special sources, it's actually the other way round. The article does not support a claim that it is universally referred to as just "Rothschild", especially considering that one of the Rothschild family's other, unrelated banks (based in France/Switzerland) is bigger. Most people probably associate the name primarily with the family, and not with just this company. Also, editor 87.210.99.206 clearly came here to engage in a form of harassment of me. --Tataral (talk) 20:50, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Have you heard of WP:BRD before? We stick with the current version of the lead whilst we assess your suggested changes. This is especially important for the first sentence of the lead. :)
Remember that, because this is English Wikipedia, we go by the common usage in English. It is apparent that, in English usage, Rothschild refers to the group mentioned on this page, whilst other groups are described more specifically. Do you have strong evidence to suggest otherwise? Another user reverted your change, describing it as unnecessary clutter.
I suggest you strike through your final sentence: Wikipedia editors should be avoiding personal attacks. :) 87.210.99.206 (talk) 18:49, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
What "unrelated" bank are you referring to,Tataral?...per the "Corporate structure" section of this article, the English and French Rothschild banks are under common ownership of the Swiss holding company.12.144.5.2 (talk) 20:34, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
