Lead section/infobox

[edit]
  • Unlink Singapore (MOS:OL).
  • The citation in this section is not needed, as the information is not controversial.
  • The coordinates in the infobox can imo be removed, as they are already inline at the top of the article.
    • Uninvolved comment, but if the coords were moved out of the infobox, then the map at the bottom of the infobox may no longer work. I would recommend combining the {{coord}} templates if that is the issue. Epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Epicgenius: Thanks for that, see my edit for this article, which shows it can work. @ZKang123: please discuss my edit if you wish. Amitchell125 (talk) 17:24, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Apart from the first one, the references in the infobox are not needed, as the information is not controversial.
  • Not all the information in the infobox is included in the main text of the article, for instance, the station’s previous names.
Apologies, you need to check the lead section as well. Amitchell125 (talk) 13:23, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Rectified. ZKang123 (talk) 12:01, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Link embassies (Diplomatic mission); Napier Road (in the infobox).
As for the previous names, I find it difficult to include in the body, because the name is still retained and not very significant tbh. But I opt to keep it in the infobox and have it cited accordingly. Had rectified the other comments ZKang123 (talk) 02:09, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]
  • Presumably, Sinohydro Corporation Ltd. Can be linked to Sinohydro.
  • This small article has 7 images, which is excessive. As the construction site is not discussed in the text, I would remove the three images of the station’s construction, as being purely decorative. They are all to be found in the Common category for the topic.
  • The station – this is the beginning of the text proper, and so the full name of the station should be given here.
  • Thomson line – consider amending this to ‘the then-planned Thomson Line’ (or something similar), so that readers are immediately aware that the line is no longer known by that name.
  • Link Transport Minister (Ministry of Transport (Singapore)); S. Iswaran.
  • With restrictions imposed – the nature of these restrictions may not be apparent to all readers, and so should be explained here.
  • Pushed – ‘extended’.
  • Addressed above comments ZKang123 (talk) 02:11, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Description

[edit]
  • Link gingers; orchids; legumes; botanical artists (Botanical illustration).
  • I wouldn’t use the exit images (see my comment about images above).
  • Train frequencies on the TEL range from 5 to 6 minutes This sentence could be amended to improve the prose, e.g. to something like ‘Trains on the TEL run approximately every 5 minutes’.
  • The curvilinear ceiling at the columnless upper platform is inspired by a folding leaf - ‘The curved ceiling above the column-less upper platform was inspired by a folding leaf’?
  • is fully designed – ‘was fully designed’.
  • depicts a tapestry of various species of plants - tapestry is incorrect, I would consider simplifying to something like ‘depicts various species of plants’.
  • the de Alwis brothers – name William de Alwis (linked) and his brother George.

References

[edit]

I have done some spot checks, and the references seem OK.

[edit]
  • The LTA has an official website for the Thomson-East Coast Line here, which I would consider adding to this section. This link may be different from the one last accessed in 2020 (in the History section).
There are two links on the TEL. As the TEL is still being under construction, there's the one on the existing stations, and the other you linked directing to the other stages still under construction. But I felt adding such a link is not relevant since it's for the line in general and not the station specifically itself. ZKang123 (talk) 02:13, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. AM

@ZKang123: A couple of points that are still outstanding (marked with Red XN), otherwise we are sorted. Amitchell125 (talk) 14:02, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
