Transferred content of Narasimham to this page, and put a disambiguation on earlier page Precambrian84 (talk) 10:55, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

removed the line: It was rumored that Shaji Kailas will direct a movie expanding Mammootty's charecter Nandagopalan Marar. Since this is speculation of event that hasn't happened yet - it likely would not pass muster with other editors. Ched (talk) 22:17, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

box office

[edit]

The film grossed around 7 crores as distributor's share. So the net gross would be around 16.1 crores. Then how can Vallyettan break this record by grossing 7 crores..???--Mithravishnu (talk) 01:32, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please see this link where it is stated that "Its [Narasimham's] profits are in the range of Rs 7 crores and the mass euphoria generated by the film is something unheard of." The following statement states that "The box-office collections of Valiyaeetan show that it is a bigger hit than Narasimham." Anyway, you can change the information yourself if and only if if you can provide a better source than Screen India. -- Arfaz (talk) 05:43, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pleas check this link. Its clearly says Malayalam cinema's biggest ever grosser Narasimham is released. and nothing about Valyettan's record. --Mithravishnu (talk) 15:40, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The link doesn't say anything about Valliettan isn't correct. The rediff link says that "Meanwhile, rival star Mammootty rode the Narasimham wave, pocketed a earful of front bench cheers and effectively buoyed a sagging mass appeal. His Valiyettan (Big Brother), again directed by Shaji Kailas, was yet another odious display of male chauvinism. Kerala went out of its way to encourage Narasimham's younger brother."
The given links are never contradictory. The Rediff link says that on 26 January 2000, Malayalam cinema's biggest ever grosser Narasimham is released. The Screen India link updates that "The box-office collections of Valiyaeetan show that it is a bigger hit than Narasimham." So in other words, we can conclude that Valiettan is the biggest ever grosser in Malayalam cinema. -- Arfaz (talk) 17:10, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The rediff link was written on 24th January, 2001 and screen india link on 27th October 2000. Now which is the updated article...??? If Narasimham's record was broken by Vallyettan then the rediff team would write it like Malayalam cinema's second biggest ever grosser Narasimham is released. It means that Vallyettan couldn't break the record created by Narasimham.--Mithravishnu (talk) 15:12, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, let us settle by including both the conficting sources separately. But from where did you get the 16.1 crore value? I didn't find it in any of the given sources. -- Arfaz (talk) 04:35, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Distributers share in kerala is around 40-50%. So 7 crore dshare means 16-17 crore gross collection. --Mithravishnu (talk) 02:34, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please update it Godsonklal007 (talk) 07:44, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Godsonklal007, this can only be changed if you provide a link to a reliable source (no blogs, no IMDb, no user-generated sites...) that supports the numbers you've presented. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 08:48, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
