GA Review
[edit]- This review is transcluded from Talk:New York State Route 441/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.
Comments:
- "CSX Transportation Rochester Subdivision": do not have two wikilinks together.
- Fixed.
- In phrase "Linden crosses NY 441", indicate that it is Linden Avenue.
- Done.
- Do not use "then" to describe progression of route in Route description.
- All uses eliminated.
- Combine last two sentences of West of Penfield section and replace "picks up the Penfield Road moniker" with "becomes Penfield Road".
- I did something similar in an effort to eliminate a "then". Hopefully it's what you had in mind.
- What makes Penfield so historic?
- Removed.
- Change "residential dwellings" to "residences".
- Done.
- In sentence "The level of development along NY 441 begins to decline 0.75 miles (1.21 km) east of NY 250, where the road narrows to two lanes, and the surroundings become largely undeveloped by the point where NY 441 enters Wayne County.", remove comma after "lanes".
- Changed the comma to a full stop. Without doing so, it seemed to be a run-on sentence. Guess it was another of those "sounded good when I wrote it" lines. =)
- The sentence "The roadway, however, continues east to Marion as Walworth–Penfield Road, Walworth–Marion Road, and Buffalo Street (County Route 205 west of Hall Center Road and Maple Avenue (CR 210) and CR 207 east of CR 210)" sounds a little confusing and awkward.
- Attempted to simplify it by junking most of the CR designations, which are unsigned anyway.
- In History section, do not link terms already linked in route description.
- See my comments on the NY 383 GAN regarding this issue.
- Do not overuse "then" in history.
- Only one use remains.
- "Construction on a new divided highway through the towns of Brighton and Penfield began in the late 1960s. It opened as a realignment of NY 441 by 1971.": Combine into one sentence.
- Gave it a shot.
- In sentence "Their October 2007 log, meanwhile, still listed the routes that were transferred to the county as part of the undated exchange", change "their" to "the NYSDOT's.
- Fixed, albeit slightly differently.
- Do not link New York State Department of Transportation twice in history.
- Whoops, now that is a valid instance of overlinking. Fixed, and moved the NYSDOT acronym to the first linked instance of the DOT.
- If known, add street names should be added to the Major intersections table for the routes that do not have it.
- Name added to NY 250. I-490 doesn't really have an alternate name that's used with any frequency in common parlance, and NY 350 doesn't have one at all.
