Nido
[edit]The "two times" or "needle" translations probably aren't what the name actually refers to, since many of the first generation Pokémon names are derived from standard English words (whereas other generations are more relative to Japanese). "Nido" is basically "Odin" backwards, referring to the Norse god and symbolizing great power. This makes more sense than composing the names with a Japanese translation for "Nido" and an English variation for "ran" (pacarana), "rina" and "rino" (rhino), or "queen" and "king".
