Potential additions of material not currently present

[edit]

Here are some improvements I would love getting some help on (these are also included as invisible comments in the article): # It would be good with sections regarding both the history of the concept of noise and the difference between noise in human judgment as described by Kahneman, Sibony and Sunstein and noise as thought of within statistics. # Someone knowledgable in statistics may want to write about the following equations taken straight from Kahneman, Sibony and Sunstein (2021): #* Error in a single predictive measurement = Bias + Noise #* Overall Error (MSE) = Bias2 + Noise2 (MSE = Mean squared error) #* (System Noise)2 = (Level Noise)2 + (Pattern Noise)2 #* (Pattern Noise)2 = (Stable Pattern Noise)2 + (Occasion Noise)2 # In the "Detecting noise in human judgment" section it could be good to write something about what is possible and not if the judgment looked at is evaluative in nature rather than predictive. # Perhaps there are also other critiques that should be included. The above was formatted with strikethrough by Tim Isaksson (talk) 13:20, 29 August 2021 (UTC), who instead added these points to Draft:Noise (human judgment), to which they better belong (I re-wrote the old article here into two articles).[reply]

Potential improvements on material already present

[edit]

Here are some improvements I would love getting some help on (these are also included as invisible comments in the article): # It would be good with a bit on the rationale for using the standard deviation to measure noise rather than other candidates. # This section could benefit from illustrating the critiques and replies with examples of cases, as well as from more references to sources putting forth the critiques. Moreover, differentiating between critiques to do with evaluative and predictive judgments, respectively, would be good. Tim Isaksson (talk) 07:44, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

COI statement

[edit]

Tim Isaksson has posted on his user talk page the following statement: : I work for a consultancy company that applies behavioral science, behavioral economics and nudge theory to sustainability challenges in various organizations. It is not entirely unplausible that we in the future may start offering consultancy work, and other services, related to reducing noise in human judgment.
