OK, I'll go first. Seems to me I never see or hear much from alumni on the "official" ND web pages. I graduated from ND High School in 1961, having spent the three prior years at UCA in downtown Utica. That means the first time I saw the Burrstone Rd. school building was the day before graduation. While we rehearsed for the following day, electricians were draping wires around us and installing lights in the auditorium. The brothers always played things close. I have a photo of myself and my girlfriend standing outside of the main building on graduation day...myself in a blue choir robe, her in a Jackie-style outfit...among the small hills of dirt and rock that formed the landscape-to-be. Yes, we actually spent our first year at Notre Dame holed up in the former New Hartford Country Day School, next to Utica Mutual Insurance Company's home office. Home to 10 bazillion dead flies, we students had only to spend our days there. The poor brothers lived there and had to remain all night. I hope things improved after 1961. I graduated from Notre Dame in 1999. My class was the first group of junior high students to go to school at the high school. That gave me 5 years at Notre Dame. Gone were the brothers of the past. I have some great memories from the school and now being a teacher myself, appreciate the discipline and dedication of the administration and staff at Notre Dame. Amanda Ashley '99

Took me a while to realize that I had to use the the "edit page" tab in order to add to this page. Anyway.....Amanda: yes, I would say things certainly did change a lot. Have you considered doing the Wiki article on the school? (Article tab.) You're certainly more current than I. And I suppose you could borrow from the offical Juggler web pages. (Yes, I know the official version of where the Juggler came from, but no one ever asked us students for input.) By the way, I don't think my class ever had a reunion specific to our year....1961. It may be that ND's reunions are not specific to any particular year. However, a friend from the UCA Class of 1960 tells me his class had a very successful reunion a few years ago. N2chiDave Griffin
