FILM/GAME appearance[edit]

Also this weapon appears in some films and games. The only game I can remember currently is Far Cry, where some variant looking like an early prototype without grneade ranging functions is used.

This weapon is featured in the the "Soldier of Fortune" FPS video game.

This weapon [with some grenade ranging effects] is the default firearm in Delta Force:Land Warrior by Novalogic[1]

Small edits, first-time editor and some questions for more cleaning[edit]

This is my first edit on Wikipedia, so I tried to keep my changes conservative. I mostly changed misspellings, awkward wording, punctuation and tense agreement. The only large change was changing most verbs from present to past tense since the project is cancelled. My edits were only in the first section of the article. I see now that there are some more verb tense changes that I incorrectly made and I'll fix them later.

Since the project is now done, I think it's end date (Nov 05) should be mentioned in the introductory paragraph. The quote should stay at the end.

When did Maj. Finch describe the three components of the program? We should know since it would help establish a timeline for the changes in the structure of the program. Also, the three components should be explicitly be explained. I don't see a definition of I3.

For timeline purposes, the 8-week hold mentioned should also be tied to a date. All we know is that there was some hold in 2005, but then precisely in Nov 2005 it ended formally.

There are probably more changes in the current formatting so that the paragraphs are more logically and clearly structured, but I'll leave that for later.

is not helpful in an encyclopedia. Añoranza 23:33, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The "propaganda terms" were referenced in a QUOTE. They represent the actual wording used by the author of the document in question. --D.E. Watters 23:39, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism[edit]

I have removed the entire "Background of the OICW project" section as it is blatant plagiarism of the article from this website: [2]. If you feel this page is in need of a similar section, please use your own words, don't steal them from someone else. Do not revert this deletion and help keep this from happening again. -- Grandpafootsoldier 07:54, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Game Appearances[edit]

The OICW appears in Soldier Of Fortune 2 and Delta Force Land Warrior and both appearances they have been difficult to handle seeing as you need to press several buttons to actually operate the grenade launcher. Using it for the first time, is actually very annoying. The MP 7 appears in the Battlefield 2 Xpansion, Special Ops, and is a very mad and powerful weapon. With a 40 round clip, it just shreds anybody. Using the iron sight, it becomes somewhat accurate with bursts. The XM 8 Carbine and Sharpshooter appear in Ghost Recon 2 and are the standard armament for either Rifleman or Sharpshooter classes. Both are pretty average rifles in the game and perform about the same as a M16/M203 or a M40

Plagiarism v2.0[edit]

The main body of this article is pretty much a carbon copy of thiswebsite. I'm not going to take the initiative and delete the copied sections, but I would appreciate it if someone could fix this issue. IngeniusDodo (talk) 15:46, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The linked site looks like a bad cut-and-paste compilation from several Wikipedia articles. --D.E. Watters (talk) 22:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Picked back up by someone else?[edit]
