This article[edit]

Wow. This article...it's pretty bad. No mention of wind octets/harmoniemusik, one slight mention of a jazz octet, stating a weird "probably" about there being only two double-string-quartets in existence, etc. etc. Is anything deserves a cleanup tag, this does. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ 15:56, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Vocal octet"[edit]

That section states it to be an eight-part choir, which would seem to contradict the lede's definition as having eight instruments or voices, not parts. Double sharp (talk) 16:10, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I notice that the section is unreferenced, but on the other hand the lede should accurately reflect the article's content. I thought we would start with a request to verify the choral claim. If a source can be produced, then we should modify the lede to conform; if not, then the claim of eight-part choir should be deleted or modified.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 21:54, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
