Surely at 500 million years, these aren't the oldest mountains.

Mountains aren't forever. Plate tectonics creates them, erosion removes them (read our articles on orogenesis and mountain formation to learn more). The phrase "geologic time" exists for a reason. DS (talk) 12:21, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That does not strike one as a strong argument to redirect to the Wichita Mountains. I've changed the redirect to the Makhonjwa Mountains, which are definitely older - arguably the oldest. Athæq (talk) 19:45, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
